The previous Warrnambool Fire Station was built in 1988 and opened in decommissioned in March 2016. Much work was put into getting the right location for the station, and it is well situated to serve the community of Warrnambool and surrounding districts.
The station had three double-length engine bays, flanked on the east by a workshop, PE room, storage room and a CABA compressor area. To the west are offices, kitchens, meeting room and staff areas.

In 1961 the Country Fire Authority opened a new station in Timor Street, near Banyan Street. This co-incided with the arrival of permanent staff.
This new station had quarters upstairs for the new Officer in Charge, and three single bays fronting Timor Street. There was a small watchroom, office and meeting room.
The building was not built from new. It had been the home of several businesses, including a flour mill. It is now part of the Warrnambool City Council's Archie Graham Senior Citizens complex.
